Train Terror: \’Blood Everywhere\’ as Stabbing Rampage Leaves Nine Critical; Witnesses Recount Heroism

HUNTINGDON, CAMBRIDGESHIRE – A routine Saturday night journey from Doncaster to London erupted into a nightmare of chaos and violence after a mass stabbing on board an LNER train, leaving ten people injured, nine of whom are believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

Passengers recounted scenes of immediate terror, with many initially mistaking the shouts for a morbid Halloween prank.

The attack began shortly after the London-bound service passed through Peterborough. The 10-to-15-minute rampage was marked by extreme panic as passengers scrambled to escape.

Olly Foster told the BBC he heard screams to \”run, there\’s a guy stabbing literally everyone and everything.\” He described touching a seat and realizing his hand was \”covered in blood.\”

Wren Chambers saw a wounded person bolt through the carriage and heard shouts of \”someone\’s got a knife,\” prompting people to swarm toward the front of the train or hide inside toilets.

Other witnesses reported seeing \”blood everywhere\” as the attacker moved through carriages with a large knife, leading to passengers being \”stamped on\” in the rush to escape.

Amid the panic, passengers showed quick courage and compassion. Olly Foster witnessed an older man who bravely \”blocked\” the attacker from stabbing a younger girl. The victim sustained gashes to his head and neck, with passengers immediately using their jackets and clothing to try and staunch the heavy bleeding.

The crisis ended swiftly after the train made an unscheduled stop at Huntingdon. Armed police stormed the station, reportedly using a Taser to restrain one man who was brandishing a large knife, leading to the arrest of two people.

All ten victims were rushed to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, with nine remaining in critical condition.

The \”appalling\” incident was immediately condemned by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, who stated the attack was \”deeply concerning\” and thanked the emergency services for their swift response. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood confirmed she was receiving regular updates but urged the public to \”avoid comment and speculation.\”
