Police Confirm Arrest After Scissors-Armed Intruder Subdued by Homeowner in Russell Island

Steve and Jane were just waking up when a woman armed with a pair of scissors broke into their house.

A home invasion in Russell Island, Brisbane\’s Moreton Bay, concluded with the arrest of a 40-year-old Boonoroo woman after she was physically subdued by the homeowner during a prolonged struggle.

The incident, which occurred around 7 am, saw the woman allegedly break into the home of Steve and Jane, armed with a pair of scissors. The intense confrontation was entirely captured on the couple\’s home security cameras, which were originally installed to monitor Steve due to a history of unexpected fainting.

A spokesperson for the Queensland Police Service confirmed the arrest, stating the woman was taken into custody \”following reports of a disturbance.\”

\”It is alleged shortly after 7 am a Boonoroo woman trespassed at an address while armed with scissors,\” the spokesperson said. \”It is alleged she was located with a small quantity of methylamphetamine in her possession.\”

Steve, 59, was forced to act on \”instinct\” after the woman violently stabbed at the couple\’s bedroom door while Jane called Triple Zero. Steve managed to seize the weapon and wrestle the attacker to the ground, holding her down for 25 minutes until officers arrived.

The Headmaster\’s full statement, along with the Queensland Police Service\’s confirmation of the arrest and alleged drug possession, frames the event as a serious criminal matter, with charges now pending against the woman.
