\’Pride and Joy\’: Owner Devastated After $120,000 Rare 1965 Riley Roadster Stolen from Victorian Shed

A car enthusiast in Victoria\’s Pentland Hills is facing heartbreak after burglars stole their cherished 1965 Riley Roadster convertible, a classic vehicle described by police as a true \”pride and joy.\”

The rare, dark red convertible, valued at an estimated $120,000, was targeted during a break-in at a shed on a rural property on Dicksons Road. The theft occurred at some point between late Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Detective Senior Constable Alexei Anikeev underscored the significance of the loss, noting the car was \”the product of hours of love\” and is incredibly distinctive.

\”The Roadster is not something you see every day,\” Anikeev said, making the point that the vehicle (registration plates: 75672H) should stand out. \”It wouldn\’t exactly blend in with Camrys or Corollas on the road.\”

In addition to the highly valuable convertible, the thieves also made off with an orange RTM 450CC dirt bike (registration: 86278).

Given the car\’s uniqueness, police are highly reliant on the public to spot the stolen classic and assist in returning the beloved vehicle to its rightful owner.
