Guilty Verdict: Massage Victim Testifies She Was \’Frozen in Fear,\’ Faked Orgasm to Stop Attack

A jury in the Parramatta District Court has convicted a massage studio owner of sexual touching and sexual intercourse without consent, finding him guilty on both counts after hearing harrowing testimony from the victim detailing her lack of consent.

The 67-year-old man, known here as Goldberg, had his bail revoked and was jailed immediately, pending a sentence hearing scheduled for December 11.

The core of the trial focused on the defence claim that Goldberg believed the victim consented. However, the female listener testified to experiencing something entirely different during the session at his cliff-side home, where she was doused in oil and blindfolded.

\”I felt frozen in fear and I was worried about what else he might do,\” the victim recounted to the jurors.

In a critical moment of testimony, the victim explained that when Goldberg asked \”are we alright to keep going?\” she believed he was referring to the massage, not the sexual acts he then allegedly commenced. She said she put her legs together in an attempt to stop the assault and ultimately had to fake an orgasm to try and get him to stop persisting.

The prosecutor highlighted that Goldberg had never discussed any sexual element with the woman beforehand.

The trial featured evidence of a highly-publicised 20-minute radio segment about the massage studio, which co-presenter Jackie O described on air as \”something else, oh my god, it really was.\”

The content of this segment formed part of the crown\’s case, contrasting with the victim\’s reality of being raped at the same location. The radio personalities, Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O, have no suggestion of any wrongdoing.

Goldberg’s attempt to apologize and offer a \”complimentary massage\” to the victim in a police-recorded call was met with a blunt refusal: \”There definitely will be no way in hell I\’d come back or refer anyone to you,\” she replied.
