Police Investigation Deepens into Western Sydney Crime Syndicate

FAIRFIELD WEST – Detectives are uncovering the layers of a sophisticated criminal network following the arrest of a teenager allegedly hired to carry out a drive-by shooting in Sydney’s west.

The arrest of a 17-year-old on a Guildford golf course last night is being linked to a broader tactical operation. Just 24 hours prior, police swarmed a home in Fairfield West, arresting a 24-year-old man accused of being the mastermind behind the recruitment of young “hired guns.”

The 24-year-old man faced court today charged with:

Directing the activities of a criminal group.

Recruiting others to carry out illegal activities.

Participating in criminal groups.

Superintendent Grant Healey clarified that while the city remains on high alert, this incident is strictly tied to organized crime and is not related to recent terror threats or religious tensions.

“This is organized crime, there is nothing else in it,” Healey stated. Investigations continue into two other vehicles found in connection with the failed plot.
