CENTRAL QUEENSLAND — An investigation is anticipated to commence immediately after a light plane crashed in Central Queensland, critically injuring the pilot and sole occupant.
Emergency crews were called to Langmorn Road, Raglan, at 9.54 am following reports of the accident. The pilot, a man aged in his 60s, was quickly attended to by paramedics and transported to hospital with severe burns and in a potentially life-threatening condition.
As the patient\’s condition remains critical, authorities will begin the process of determining the cause of the crash. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is typically responsible for investigating civil aviation accidents and is expected to be notified and deploy a team to the wreckage site to collect evidence. The plane was reported to have crashed on Langmorn Road, an area near Raglan.
The accident involved only one aircraft and the injured man was the only person on board, limiting the immediate scope of the rescue operation but raising questions about the flight\’s circumstances leading up to the impact.
