Six Teenagers Charged, One Found with a Blade, Following Ellenbrook School Attack

Australia : The charging of six male teenagers in relation to a violent assault at Ellenbrook Secondary College in Perth has raised significant community alarm over youth crime and weapon possession in Western Australia.

The alleged attack occurred around 3pm yesterday, when a group of youths allegedly assaulted a 15-year-old student on the school grounds before fleeing. The victim was taken to hospital, having sustained lacerations to his head and arm.

The six teenagers, ranging in age from just 13 to 16, were apprehended by police shortly after the incident. They have all been charged with serious offences, including assault and wounding.

Of particular concern to authorities and the community is the additional charge laid against one of the accused for carrying a blade. This detail underscores the severity of the confrontation and the increasing issue of dangerous weapons being carried by young people.

Charged Teens by Age Group:

Ages 16: Two teens

Age 15: One teen

Ages 14: Two teens

Age 13: One teen

The alleged offenders now face the legal process in the Perth Children’s Court under charges that reflect a serious breach of public safety, particularly within a school environment.

This incident is likely to renew public discussion about the need for greater security measures in schools and targeted intervention programs to address the root causes of youth violence across the state.
