Exotic Athletica Bids Emotional Farewell to Loyal Activewear Tribe

Australian label Exotic Athletica will officially fold this week after 10 years in business.

A decade-long run for the \”much-loved\” Australian activewear brand Exotic Athletica is coming to an end. The Sunshine Coast business, which entered voluntary administration in April, confirmed to its loyal social media followers this week that it will officially shut down on Sunday, November 16th.

The company posted an emotional farewell message, reflecting on its unique identity built around bold designs and body positivity.

\”After 10 wild, messy, fabulous years of leggings, crops, and chaos… it\’s time for us to say something we never thought we would: Exotica is closing our doors on Sunday, November 16th,\” the company announced.

Founded by Leilani Chandler in 2014, the brand gained a massive following by creating athleisure wear that celebrated \”feminine curves and bold designs.\” The message thanked its community for making the brand \”bigger, louder, and wilder than we ever imagined.\”

Despite its strong customer base, a rescue bid by administrators SV Partners failed to materialise. The administrators cited challenges related to \”changes in senior management and increased operational expenses\” as factors leading to the collapse.

In its final days, the company is urging customers to clear out the remaining inventory with a 70 per cent stock clearance sale. The brand signed off its farewell post with its signature boldness:

\”Because darling, if we\’re going out… we\’re going out sassy, sweaty, and unforgettable.\”
