Swindon Town Defends Captain Ollie Clarke Against FA Ruling
Swindon Town condemns the FA’s decision to ban captain Ollie Clarke, questioning the “balance of probabilities” used in the sexual misconduct ruling.
The Los Angeles Clippers\’ troubled start to the season took a heavy blow, both on the court and off it, as they suffered their sixth straight loss to the Denver Nuggets, who were led by a historic 55-point performance from Nikola Jokic.
The 130-116 defeat drops the spiraling Clippers to a poor 3-8 record, compounding the devastating news delivered earlier in the day.
Before the game, the Clippers received the worst possible news: star guard Bradley Beal will miss the rest of the season after being diagnosed with a fractured hip requiring surgery.
The team is also currently without the services of Kawhi Leonard, who is nursing a sprained ankle and foot, leaving the roster severely depleted.
Against the dominant Nuggets, the Clippers’ short-handed effort was led by James Harden, who scored 23 points, distributed five assists, and hit all 10 of his free throws. Jordan Miller provided a much-needed spark off the bench with a career-high 22 points, while Ivica Zubac added 18.
Despite the Clippers surprisingly taking a 68-63 lead into halftime, their momentum was quickly erased by the Serbian superstar. Jokic, who finished with 55 points and 12 rebounds, scored 19 points in the decisive third quarter, single-handedly turning the deficit into a massive Nuggets lead.
The Nuggets (130-116) continue their success and are on a six-game winning streak. The struggling Clippers will look to bounce back against the Mavericks on Saturday (AEDT).
