Notice Seeking Travel Ban for Dr. Yunus and Advisory Council

DHAKA : A legal notice was served to government authorities on Monday seeking an immediate ban on the departure of outgoing interim government Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus and all members of his advisory council.

The notice, issued by Supreme Court lawyer M Ashraful Islam, demands that the state impose travel restrictions to prevent the outgoing leadership from leaving the country pending an investigation into recent policy decisions.

The primary grievance cited in the notice involves the management of the national measles vaccination programme. The lawyer alleges that the interim government oversaw an “unlawful and harmful” transfer of these essential services from state management to the private sector.
