How Jessie Wynter and Farmer Will Beat the Odds

Will and Jessie have spent the holiday period in Australia.

HOBART:  In the world of reality television, few couples survive the transition from a sun-drenched villa to the reality of everyday life. However, Jessie Wynter and Will Young have not only survived—they have thrived. Following the news of their engagement in Tasmania, we look back at the three-year journey that led to “Yes.”

Before she was a UK sensation, Jessie appeared on Season 2 of Love Island Australia. While she finished in fourth place with Todd Elton, the romance was short-lived, with the pair splitting amicably in early 2020.

In a surprise twist, Jessie entered the Love Island UK villa as a “bombshell” during Season 9. She immediately gravitated toward the eccentric and lovable “Farmer Will” Young. Despite a tumultuous “Casa Amor” period, the two left the show as a committed couple, finishing in fifth place.

With romantic photoshoots like this, we can understand the confusion.

Proving her commitment, Jessie moved across the world to join Will on his family farm in Buckinghamshire. Fans fell in love with her “city-girl-to-farm-girl” transformation. In 2024, they solidified their brand by launching the Farmer Will And Jessie podcast, where they discussed everything from agriculture to the pressures of a public relationship.

Will’s planning for the proposal reportedly took over a year. He chose the east coast of Tasmania because of Jessie’s deep connection to her homeland. By waiting nearly a month to announce the news, the couple managed to keep the most important moment of their lives away from the “outside noise” of social media.

What’s Next?

With Jessie now firmly established in the UK, the couple is expected to balance their time between the Buckinghamshire farm and regular visits to Australia. If their engagement reveal is any indication, their wedding will be one of the most anticipated events in the Love Island universe.
