The Biggest New Movies and Streaming Releases this Christmas

The Kate Winslet & Helen Mirren Collaboration In one of the season’s most poignant releases, Kate Winslet directs and stars in Goodbye June. Written by her son, Joe Anders, the film features Dame Helen Mirren as a mother in palliative care, bringing her feuding children together for one final Christmas. It promises to be the emotional centerpiece of the holiday schedule.

Coming-of-Age & Believing in Magic Lenny Rush stars in Finding Father Christmas, a new film following a 16-year-old who refuses to give up on the magic of Santa. Featuring a supporting cast including James Buckley and Stephen Fry, it’s a modern take on the classic “quest” movie for the whole family.

UK fans will get a Boxing Day treat as the next three episodes of the final season drop. With Hawkins under military rule and Eleven hunting the elusive Vecna, it’s a high-stakes alternative to traditional festive fare.
